Sustainability
We can deliver on clients’ sustainability reporting needs by offering full traceability of resource use and farm practice.
Our use of the latest farm technology and management systems allows us to provide full traceability of our resource use, product specification, and farm practices – all the way from planting to downstream supply chain customers.
We benchmark individual paddocks to collect the following data available to buyers needing to meet sustainability objectives:
Water Efficiency
Water use efficiency to achieve maximum yield per ML used.
Soil Testing
Soil testing and managing crop rotations according to efficient use.
Satellite Imagery
Use of satellite imagery to identify and manage crop variability and input use, and timing of operations.
Moisture Probes
Moisture probes to most efficiently time irrigation scheduling.
Automated Watering
Working with researchers on fully automated telemetry systems that apply water when sensors determine crop need.
Soil Health
Our operations place an emphasis on improving soil health by adopting minimum tillage, using the latest precision agriculture techniques to reduce fertiliser and chemical inputs, and utilising integrated pest management strategies to reduce herbicide application.
Building for the next generation
Operating from a multi-generational farm, we understand the importance of leaving our country in better condition for the next generation. For over a decade, Managing Director Drew Braithwaite has led irrigated cropping industries in the district to undertake and adopt research and development in more sustainable practices.
